Reliable backbone

The reliability of the fibre depends heavily on the backbone. We provide transparency about our backbone:

In Kinshasa, fibre is connected redundantly to the West African Cable System (WACS) via two landing points, in Moanda and Black Point.
In Lubumbashi, fibre is connected via Zambia from South Africa with a land and another air link; and the Network in South Africa is connected to 4 cables: SEACOM, SAT3, EASSy, Team WACS.
In Goma fibre is connected to the SEACOM Cable System from Rwanda.
In other cities in the east of DRC the link is through connections to neighbouring countries and often is partially on microwave.

Advantages of fibre

Low latency. With satellite connections (VSAT) there is a delay of half a second due to the great distance from the earth. This does not apply to fibre optic connections.
More bandwidth for the same money: price per megabyte is lower than with VSAT connection.
Symmetric bandwidth, you get as much upload as download.
Maximum speeds in excess of 100 Mbps, depending on area.
